Our History

H J Pook Insurance Brokers was established in 1958 by John Pook. Originally concentrating on serving local clients, the business now has clients nationwide serviced by a staff of sixteen.

The current partners are Malcolm Pook, Maggie Cooke and Kevin Grimwood. 

We still operate from our original address in the village of Great Totham near Maldon in rural Essex although the original office building has completely altered over the years to accommodate the growing number of staff.

Our Business

We are independent insurance brokers which means we deal with a wide range of insurers enabling us to provide the right choice of products for our clients.

We transact all classes of insurance for Commercial and Personal clients and have a long established Life, Pensions and Financial Dept. with qualified Independent Financial Advisers who offer products from the whole of the market..

Our sophisticated modern IT systems enable us to trade electronically with most insurers bringing cost advantages to our clients as well as speed and efficiency with paperwork.
